If you have a BAEC Avios booking on Aer Lingus, you can call Aer Lingus to pre-book a seat. A BAEC Avios booking includes selecting a Standard seat for free or you can pay to select another seat. Normal seat selection charges apply (if selecting anything other than a standard seat). I have no idea why it cannot be done online - it's a bit ridiculous.
