I lived in the Pacific Northwest for 20 years and enjoyed frequent escapes to Hawaii during the dreary season. Now based in Europe, I struggle to find a suitable alternative. We really like Westin Malta, where we had perfect beach weather in mid-October three years in a row, and we have resigned ourselves to the idea of having to fly to Asia for Christmas/NYE, but the hole to fill is late February-early March. We went to Mallorca at that time this year and had some pleasant 20C/65F days, but also some cold and stormy ones, definitely no swimming or even lounging by the pool. At RC Abama, can you do those things in Feb-Mar? Or is it more like hiking, biking, spaing?

Thanks for that advice! Adam1222 and stimpy recommended upthread splitting the stay, and we may do just that. There are two Aluas (Hyatt) in Puerto de la Cruz, but they look pretty dreadful, so I would try to find a non chain here, and Santa Cruz has an
AC Hotel that has decent reviews and looks fairly well located. I didn't find any reviews for it on FT, has anyone stayed?
