Hi, looking to book a BOS-VIE in Austrian in PE thru United. UA flight number but the website says I need to contact the carrier to select seats (consistent with the sticky at the top of this thread). Has anyone had the experience here booking a PE seat on Austrian thru United and selecting seats after booking? Asking because it's a party of 5 and if there are seats assignment fees it could get costly.

NB: I can book direct thru Austrian but the return flights (open jaw from BER) aren't offering the UA flight thru EWR; only LH and LX options.

I'm usually a DL flyer so thanks in advance for any suggestions.

EDIT: Sorry, I missed the reference to Austrian in post #409 above. I read TK in the first line and moved on. Question answered.
