Wrapping up a 2 night stay here as a solo traveler. I had previously stayed at the Andaz when that was category 4 and it is of course better than this but was fully booked this weekend and I had a cat 4 cert expiring this month so I went with this one.

As the last poster mentioned, service has been very good. The buildings are very dated but the room is clean and the furniture is in good shape and stuff so they have at least kept up with maintenance.

As it always seems to go, I was at the Hyatt Centric SF the week before this with my wife and was not able to use to my SUA when I would have really loved to have a suite then I come here solo with no plans to be in the room other than to sleep and as a globalist they upgraded me to a 2 queen waterfront suite. At check in they asked if I wanted a suite and I said I certainly wouldn't be mad about it but I don't need a suite for this stay and just wanted whatever room they could put me in first (it was 10:30a) and he said the suite was immediately available. I understand better why he asked, though, as the suites are all in a separate building, not the main tower. I would probably prefer a regular room in the tower having stayed in the suite but I really needed to get some work done so I was very grateful they let me have a room so early. They also proactively gave me 4p check out.

I only ate breakfast once but I enjoyed it more than others seem to. At check in he mentioned they have a new menu so perhaps it has changed? I got the steak burrito which had generous amounts of steak and guac on a freshly made tortilla. My server, who was also great, said he had just ordered one to go for himself so perhaps I just lucked into ordering the best thing. I didn't see a buffet and none was mentioned but I also wasn't trying to have a buffet anyway. The restaurant is detached from the hotel and located over the water so quite a lovely setting for breakfast at a hotel (although when I stayed at the andaz a couple years ago breakfast was served rooftop so you've got some great options in this city).

If this part of town is convenient to your trip and/or you have a cert I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, especially as a globalist.
