Some catering ex-US is worse than others - but I feel cost-cutting is also an element. Other airlines do better.

Had a beef fillet on QF ex-US recently and it was neither dry nor grey. Vegetables had some bite rather than being completely limp. Even the breakfast was tolerable, and that's saying a lot for something that has to be eaten 20 hours after preparation.
