I have to agree with the general trend of thought here the the CW seems to be on the drift and could do with a bit of a shake up. Apart from anything else the menus are just so boring.

In my last few sectors in CS/CW from IAD, JFK, BAH and DEL (all overnight) I've simply turned down just about all food as for various reasons the menus were so unappetizing. The only memorable thing was a good fruit plate ex DEL. The food and wine ex BOM was awful on a long day time flight.

The breakfasts ex-US East coast are a joke; honestly, why they can't provide a plate of fruit and something simple like a bacon or sausage bap rather than the stupid egg or egg creations. They used to provide smoothies but these disappeared - wasn't it some stupid excuse to do with the difficulty in cleaning the glasses afterwards? Pre-flight dining is definitely your friend on these flights and just assume that you'll be eating properly in Arrivals if you have the time. Shame they got rid of the newspapers as it was good to catch up over a leisurely breakfast. As has already been pointed out, KSML are surprisingly poor ex USA.

Ex LHR the food does seem to be a bit better. The curries were pretty dependable. KSML are good but of course you do face a no choice lottery there.

For my money, I'd start with upscaling the side salad to a larger size with the return of of a separate dressing. Reinstating a fourth choice of main - perhaps bring back the cold main that we had before. How about olive oil as an alternative to butter? Beefing up the Club Kitchen a bit?

I think that would go a long way - together with the ability to pre-order again. Has anyone come up with a cogent reasoning behind the delay in getting pre-ordering back on track. For an airline that has cost cutting in it's DNA, this surely has to be an open goal. But then, what do I know?
