Yes, this is all somewhat unfortunate, since you also had the option of taking the train to London - as well as being rerouted via EDI, ABZ, NCL or MAN. Once you have selected a replacement flight you cannot then change it, and the options shown on the App are often quite unnecessarily restricted. It's not even about trying to save BA money, since EDI would be better for the airline, it's just the robots don't always work out that EDI is so close by. If this happens again - hopefully not - make use of this forum for advice. Or use this thread (which will tell you it's ok to buy food and charge it to BA):

There are 32 untaken seats on the 11:35 from EDI.
