Just reading through peoples experiences with this. I recently noticed that Avios I would have received from an Hotels.com booking showing as cancelled. I made an enquiry as to why and the response was something along the line so "your transaction was rejected as the merchant reported that your last click for your purchase was not made.....". I know how fiddly the whole user experience so I tend to be careful. Any previous claims for missing Avios I made in the past were successful. I had a number of other stays booked via Hotels.com without any trouble collecting the avios. This is the first time the claim was rejected though. Just wondering if its worth the trouble to go direct to the merchant, Hotels.com in this case? If yes, any suggestion as to how to go about it? Or would it just be a fruitless exercise and I'd better off saving my time and moving on? Its about 1,900 avios so not huge but just annoying all the same.
