I think the U.S. competitors all show the seat map during the booking process or once you've booked, but not in flight status. I believe UA is at least the only US airline that shows you seat maps, upgrades, and standby lists in the app. It's a real disappointment to me every time I fly someone else. I just have to console myself with the better meals, friendlier service, and more reliable operations. at least on AS and DL (couldn't resist).
