The replacement of Thales with ViaSat on the narrowbody fleets is proceeding at a good rate. I'm flying more and more former Thales equipped 737s that have been converted.

Starlink seems to have bandwidth issues in congested airspace. I saw that Starlink is working on a system that combines the lower-orbit Starlink service with geo-stationary satellites when Starlink bandwidth drops. That might work well on the long-haul fleets.

I think the article was just speculation about United and Starlink.
