I actually ended up recently staying in the 2 Bedroom Gold Suite. Your intuition was correct. The map is more or less correct, but there is a set of double doors walling off the end of the hallway past the elevators. Also, it does not extend as far around the corner as there is a staircase in the way. Layout is a bit odd, but good for 2 couples and the closest room to the gold amenities.
That is certainly a very convenient room location! Was it noisy at all, being right next to the lounge?
I see the floor plan from the room is pre-renovation. They show a lot of rooms on that plan where are now all part of the lounge. I believe the area in red below, is now all part of the lounge.
