Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I have a stash of TYP earned from a Citi checking account that I just learned are not transferrable to airline/hotel programs. I have a prestige card and assumed that all my TYP are pooled together and therefore equal, but I was wrong . What's the general advice about the best value one can get for TYP earned via a checking account? Is $.01 the highest value for these points? If so, a statement credit seems to make sense, unless Citi still issues 1099 in which case perhaps using a point as $.01 for airfare is the way to go. Thanks.
