How does EK handle irrops due to weather? I have a friend who is scheduled to fly HKG-DXB-EBL. However, HKG is about to get hit by a typhoon signal 8 and flights might get cancelled as a result.

What are her options if the HKG-DXB flight gets cancelled? What is the best way to ensure she gets accommodated on the next flight out? She has no status with EK.

I personally have never flown with EK.
