FCM upgrades are non-transferable with advance changes (prior to check-in window), but you can get a credit for the cost of the upgrade should you change/cancel flights before check-in window. I believe some have reported success with SDCing on them recently, but the T&C's aren't really clear here. They do not touch your original ticket or change your originally purchased fare (unlike an upfare which does).

Cheapest FCM upgrade offers on route (with Z bucket open) are generally in line with FC fare differentials on non-stop fares which is $90 on this route (although you can't upfare on a per segment basis on connecting itins). If there is Z bucket open on flight, it will probably not get any cheaper than what you are seeing now.
