Kimpton Fitzroy London
What is your Rewards Club status?
Diamond Royal Ambassador Inner Circle
Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes. Extremely pleased.
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked entry level room on cheapest rate. As travelling with our 12 year old I contacted the hotel - their 4 person rooms are priced extremely high in my opinion. They upsold the corner suite (1 bedroom suite dining park view) and waived the rollaway bed charge - essentially matching the 2 double bed premium room cost. I was pleased.
We arrived at 10am and the suite wasn't ready so we were given the single room. This was small but it was extremely lovely and would be perfect for a solo business traveller.
How are the rooms?
- the corner suite is lovely. Extremely well furnished.
- the living area is very homely with two arm chairs and a large sofa. Small dining area nestled in the corner of the living area.
- separate toilet near entrance
- hallway to bedroom double as walk in wardrobe with curtains to hideaway cases and all your clobber
- four poster bed in bedroom
- vanity desk with mirror and Dyson Airblade fan
- massive rolltop bath in corner of bedroom
- separate bathroom with double sinks and separate toilet and shower
How was your complimentary welcome amenity?
This was our anniversary which I had mentioned in my emails about the room and my daughter.
We received a bottle of red, dark chocolates and cheese platter (exactly as my Inner Circle preferences)
I was given the on duty guest relations manager's card by the bell boy should we have any queries. I emailed her post stay to say how grateful I was for the treatment during my stay.
Did you raid the minibar? If so, what did you take?
Voucher for two drinks given for the secret password. The bar allowed all 3 of us a drink on the voucher. The cocktails for the adults were £19 each.
Were you offered a Chef's Taste at Dinner, If so, what did you receive?
This is where my mind was blown!
We'd booked dinner in Fitz's Brasserie and noted in the reservation about our anniversary and the chef's taste.
We were given a full 5 course tasting menu, each, including all drinks, at no cost. I asked for the bill at the end and was told it was all on the house. I was absolutely stunned! The quality of the food was superb. Even if I'd paid for it (which I was expecting to pay for something) I would have been happy. Excellent quality and excellent service.
All given as a congratulations on our anniversary.
Did you use the free spa credit / did the hotel participate? If so, was it a good value?
N/A
What was good and what was bad?
There was nothing bad here at all. It was a perfect stay.
Inner Circle recognition coupled with anniversary recognition was amazing.
Yes, you could argue the room cost was high and therefore there was scope for the extras, but even so, it was not expected at all. Exceeding expectations is rare these days, I find, so when it happens I'm very grateful.
Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Absolutely. The Inner Circle recognition here was perfect and the quality of the corner suite was a delight.
Service and staff were top notch. I usually frequent either of the ICs for trips to London, but this visit has made me seriously question that.
