InterContinental Bali Resort (Jimbaran)
What is your IHG Rewards Club status?
Diamond Inner Circle Royal Ambassador
Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Absolutely
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked cheapest rate, entry level room. Upgraded to premium room with club access. Emailed to enquire about suites - was given an upsell from the upgraded club room price (not originally booked room) to an Uluwatu Suite. On check in, had been upgraded again to a Sanctuary Suite. Given the cheapest rate available for the Sanctuary Suite was way over double what we actually paid, we were extremely pleased.
How are the rooms?
- this room was wonderful
- dining area
- separate kitchenette room with dedicated external door for butler access
- dining table for 6
- living space with sofa and two arm chairs and table
- separate bedroom with its own living area, sofa and table
- separate toilet room with the funky smart toilets - auto seat open/close, heated seat, extractor, washer etc
- large bathroom with double sink, separate smart toilet, bath and huge walk in shower
- dedicated walk in wardrobe with make up desk, chair, and loads of storage/hanging space
- absolutely huge balcony with two tables and seating for 4, plus a love seat and view of the ocean
- free return airport transfers
How is the exec. lounge?
One of the best club lounges with exceptional service.
Breakfast could be taken in the lounge, in Taman Gita or in Jimbaran Gardens. You could even do all three the same day if you wanted.
Afternoon tea was very good but I think the location doesn't lend itself to a British/European style of afternoon tea. We only had it twice of the 7 nights we were there.
Evening canapes and drinks were good. Cocktails, beers, wines, soft drinks. Whatever you wanted basically. And the food was good - we used it as a dinner replacement on the day we arrived.
Service was the highlight though, particularly Wida who was excellent and remembered our names and our drinks (there were 7 of us across two rooms in total over the 7 days).
What was good and what was bad?
GOOD
- club lounge
- Sanctuary Suite
- club pool (free soft drinks all day, with a call button so you don't even have to get off the sun lounger)!
- 97% full according to lounge staff but the place never felt crowded
- food quality was excellent
- F&B prices by Bali standards are high, but by Euro/UK standards was extremely good value. 20% off given without prompting for IHG members too
BAD
Nothing
Value for $ or IHG Rewards Club Points? Would you return?
Definitely.
It's unlikely we'll venture back to Bali given the distance from the UK but we would definitely stay here again if we return.
Unfortunately, most of my photos include my family members which I never like posting online.
