When it comes to diversions I can think of 2 general situations / scenarios:
- Situation 1: You flew MAN-FRA and diverted to different airport (i.e. BHX), does it accumulate as MAN-FRA or MAN-BHX?
- Situation 2: You flew MAN-FRA and diverted back to FRA, does it accumulate as MAN-FRA or as if no flight took place?
1. Would make no difference, you get the same points.
2. Never been in that situation of a return to airport & on a flight that took 40 minutes longer, i would certainly ask for the points along with compensation, presuming it was tech.
