I have a booking on Friday night on a one way ticket in business with a connection in KUL. I have seat selected no problem for the 2nd leg however it's not letting me select seat on the 1st flight and appears all seats are greyed out.

Is this normal and will I be able to check in online tonight and get a boarding pass? I'm OWE through BA GGL and the FF number is showing in the booking.
