I am guessing your hotel in Kabukicho area is closer to Shin-Okubo Station than Shinjuku Station? If that is the case then it makes sense that Google Map would tell you to get off at Shin-Okubo Station to save some walking, as Kabukicho area is sanwiched between the two stations.

IMO the best and easiest way, but the most expensive, is taking Limousine Bus from Narita Airport to Shinjuku Kabukicho, which will drop you off at the new Tokyu Kabukicho Tower (Google Map) at a cost of 3,600 yen, 840 yen more than the Skyliner / Yamanote way, but it might be a little bit further to your hotel than Shin-Okubo Station. This is a different Limousine Bus route than the normal Shinjuku route.

It's similar to NEX, non-stop until Nippori Station. Train cars equipped with luggage racks. If you are taking Skyliner, you can just purchase at the counter and get the paper / magnetic ticket. When you transfer at Nippori Station, you will put in the paper ticket then scan your SUICA card. The transfer should be easy with signs on top and on the ground to guide you.

If you purchase Skyliner ticket online, you can get some discount, so that would be 1,000 yen cheaper than Limousine Bus method. See https://www.keisei.co.jp/keisei/tetu...ket/index.html.
