You could upfare to the non discount economy fares, which gives you more selection. But that's typically not cheap (like $100+ per person).
Can you help me understand what this means?

I got the same seatmap on the ANA flight when I picked Economy and Economy Fully Refundable on united.com. (I didn't bother with Economy Non-Changeable)

Did you mean something else?
