Feedback on SQ11/SQ12
Having flown both before and post-pandemic on SQ11 and SQ12 from LAX, here's my experience and tips. I particularly enjoy the First Class experience and the Star Alliance lounge at LAX. The lounge allows you to either order exclusive items from their menu or visit the nearby Business Class lounge for a buffet. I always make use of the private rooms in the First Class Lounge for their quiet atmosphere so I can rest, watching TV, or catching up on sleep.
Regarding the food on the LAX - NRT route, if it's your first time flying First Class, the multi-course meal is a wonderful and beautiful experience that you can't go wrong with. The Book the Cook menu has become more limited post-COVID due to catering at LAX; I recommend checking the onboard menu on the app before making your selection. Personally, I find the onboard menu to be better than the Book the Cook options from LAX.
Flying out of NRT, I recommend arriving early so you can enjoy the ANA Lounge in First Class (It's a long walk from the lounge to the departing gate, so keep that in mind). The Japanese cuisine in the lounge is wonderful, especially if you appreciate sushi. You can order anything from the lounge menu via their app. The Japanese meals served on Singapore Airlines from NRT - LAX are also excellent and beautifully presented. Unlike LAX, the Book the Cook options are extensive flying out of NRT, making it a bit challenging to decide since they look/sound delicious!
As others have mentioned, you really can't go wrong with either of these flights. The 10 hours will fly by quickly. Enjoy every moment; I still vividly remember my first experience in Singapore's First Class—once you try it, you'll find it hard to go back.
