So I called the reservation desk - they tried to help me - but unfortunately they cannot - there is standard room available on day 1 of my 7 nights, but not all nights. They could book the free night cert, but they cannot modify the 7 nights to 6 unless there are standard rooms available the entire week - even thou I have a standard room booked. They cannot just take one night off the beginning of the reservation - essentially they would book 6 nights, then cancel my 7- but since there are not 6 nights to book, they can't do that

does that make sense? they said they could do it with a cash booking but not a points - is it worth calling back to see if I get a different person or do I just need to find another use for the cert?
