This is actually an interesting question. Not only could they refresh the menu items, I think they could expand their emphasis on food and beverage.
After a few stays at Moxies, I was almost impressed with their emphasis on common space (how much there was, how they divided the sense of space, effort put into decoration for a budget property, etc) and this spilled over into their bar/kitchen arrangement. From what I gathered, they have a pretty decent food and bar menu, and I wouldn't be surprised if the take on that was an integral part of the business plan. (I am aware Moxy is in a different segment than HP, but I think a comparison like that has some relevance for this topic.)
A lot of HPs are in random locations where guests have fewer options for meals. Why not in-source this to encourage guests to stay on property for meal times? And for guests who might choose a different property due to the HP being in a food desert, now they might be more likely to give a marked-off HP a second look. Certainly I would (though I may well be in a minority).
