Given AA has been on one way award system probably over 10 years or longer, is there still any scenario that booking a return award would be cheaper than 2 oneways? Why would people still book a round trip award?
sometimes i’ll book a tight 25 minute PHX connection from SBP for cheap when i’d rather fly from SBA. when a material schedule change hits that allows me to switch to SBA, i’d rather be booked on a roundtrip award as it’s less of a fight getting both outbound and return switched to SBA.
