Has anyone upgraded with miles at check-in after transferring miles from a credit card program? I am flying IAD to DXB coming up in January on a cash business saver fare. I would like to have the opportunity to upgrade to first at check in. I will have sufficient miles, but they will need to be transferred from Amex. This appears to be a 48 hour process per reports. Has anyone gone through the timing of this process? I do not have a need to fly EK often enough that the miles would be valuable to me if they are not able to be applied to an F upgrade.
