What if the "LCC" is KLM (i.e. VCE-AMS) as part of an open-jaw USA-LHR, travel around, VCE-AMS-USA? Would there be any advantage to booking over the phone with Delta? I'm thinking I should just book open-jaw USA-LHR, AMS-LHR on the Delta website and the VCE-AMS on the KLM website... is my instinct correct with regards to flexibilty in the event of delays? (Price not so important, except for any $800 stopover fees)
