As a 1K, my CPU rate has been notably declining this year, flying similar routes to the past, and AUS-based so I virtually never fly transcons. It may pick up again a bit as summer travel falls off. I’m nowhere near 75%. (Still above 7.5% though )

OP: As a Plat, on CPU-eligible routes, you’d be behind anybody using an upgrade instrument, plus all Global Services, 1Ks, and any Platinum with a higher fare class. As a Gold, you’d be behind all of those people plus other Platinums and Gold members with a higher fare class. On most flights, all you’ll be doing is changing your position on the part of the waitlist that wouldn’t clear even if the F cabin were empty. And on any transcontinental flights, you’d have no shot at all, even with PlusPoints, unless maybe you only fly Tuesdays and Saturdays.
