Even if your cousin's flight from the US will allow transfer pax to proceed directly to the departures level, there is nobody "forcing" her to do that. She will still have the option of proceeding the "normal" way for connecting flights, i.e. end up at the main transfer security checks. I suggest that you meet up there, i.e in front of the entrance to boarding pass and transfer security checks.
