Agree. But posting here a recent experience (first time this has happened) on an interline with AA. Checked it at BOS and had boarding pass for the 6E segment and all. Went to drop off bags at 6E counter for the connection, but they could not find my booking for the flight I was supposed to be on. I showed by BP and the bag tags all indicating the 6E flight and date. Supervisory intervention concluded that my flight was for two days later. No one knew who made the change or what happened. Long story short, I managed to fly later that day (missed two meetings). Received an email from AA several days later that "your booking has changed and we are unable to rebook you. Please contact us."
6E is also notorious for changing seats on such tickets. Happened to me on multiple occasions. YMMV but posting here so folks can keep an eye on 6E segments all the way through.
