Turns out Alaska did away with allowing you to use miles to upgrade to first. I tried last week and customer service told me I missed it by one day. Bummer. Now the only way is to use a gold certificate.

With both miles & money and using miles to upgrade gone, miles are not useful for those that need the EQM’s to hit MVP or gold. Alaska has really weakened the value of miles for MVP’s.
