I cannot answer your questions about the hotel but I live next to it so I can tell you about the area.
There is a paved trail across the street from the hotel that runs the length of the PC area. You can take this trail about 2.5 miles to Kimball junction or about 4 to main Street with a combination of sidewalks that way. This can get you to the paved trails around McPolin barn as well. PC has a electric bike share that has a station across the street from the hotel that is quite convenient to use on that paved trail.
Both Matt Knope and Willow Creek parks are across the street within walking distance and have flat gravel trails that I enjoy walking. The Mcleod Creek trail is also near the hotel, it's flat and gravel and one of my favorite trails in town.
There's not a ton to eat or drink near the hotel except the Garden Cafe which is a greenhouse/coffeeshop.
