you are JGC member, unless the program changes you can fly 1 flight each year to maintain status....
if you have the ability and planned trip to gun for Gold/DM then I say go for it. JGC has limitation on how it can be used on Cathay(if you mainly fly with them) especially on upgrades... And overall JL's flight is usually much more expensive compare to CX.
