A really weak food selection with unappetising-sounding options, basic ingredients and no substantial snacks on a 12+ hour flight. The crew did manage to rustle up a soggy packaged sandwich on request halfway through the flight, which was I suppose better than nothing. This was also my first experience of the new menu format - I'm definitely not a fan of the colloquial language used in the headings.

I started dinner with a Citrus Burst, which was served with a packaged snack mix. I remember when the new Club World catering concept was introduced in 2018 and nuts were served in a ramekin - sadly that disappeared with the pandemic in March 2020 and never came back. At least there was a hot towel that made an appearance.

The poached prawn salad was too cold to be enjoyable. The side salad of marinated beetroot and Granny Smith apples was plain odd.

My main course of the North Atlantic grilled cod, whilst reasonably tasty, was a laughably small portion. My fiancée tried the kung pao chicken, which featured underdone rice and was overall deemed to be 'pathetic'.

Dessert on the other hand was pretty decent - I tried both the English strawberries and cream (with a neat Wimbledon theme) and the warm chocolate, walnut and orange cake which were served together. Both were well flavoured and nicely presented.

Breakfast started with fresh seasonal fruit and a strawberry super bowl (complete with the tiniest amount of muesli you could imagine), both of which were fine, followed by the 'original' full British (apparently not English) breakfast which was, in a word, 'meh'. The cheddar and asparagus omelette (not pictured here) was swimming in grease.

A very disappointing Club World catering experience on one of BA's longest sectors. BA can and should be doing better. I complained to BA and was initially offered a £300 e-voucher, which when challenged turned into 55,000 Avios.
