It feels to me that many hotels are leaving recently. More than that is being replaced. I hope I am wrong.

I mean either that or the most useful hotels have left.

In China there are fewer and fewer sofitels. There are more mecures, similar number of novotels and up to Pullmans. But that is from their chinese partnership. What pees me off is often especially the mercures are not often available.

Chongqing has literally zero presence (apart from an unbookable mercure and a banyan tree far out the city.)

There are no good Accor ski resort hotels (ski in and ski out please) left in France (amazing considering it is their home market). I was forced to book the old mercure (now altezza) at les arcs still as they had a nice renovation before they left a few years later.

Then losing the flagship hotel in Hong Kong (Pullman park lane). Mondoran seems nice but hardly a flagship property for such a big chain. Miss the old nathan road novotel.

Then hearing that both hotels in Taiwan are going ot already have left. Leaving again zero presence.

I know I am sort of looking at the glass half full but Accor has really lost many properties and foot print lately. Then you hear about a dwindling presence in the USA and Canada.
