Went to IHOP last night and while they still don't do anything close to pay at the table or counter, at least they tap physical cards for customers in the back now ("Visa Cardholder" on the receipt). Looks like they're now using Lane/3000s at their POS stations so they could make Apple Pay and the like easy simply by allowing people to pay at the front again if they wanted to.
