Two lines open, CE on left, ET on right, a few minutes later a 3rd lane opened up for ET further to the right halving the ET line. lady in front of us said that she had had enough, she knew those ahead were not in CE so went to front of an ET line and demanded to be checked in. Seeing her being successful we followed to the front of the CE line and explained the situation as we saw it to the young lad at the desk, he refused to check us in and said we should go to the back of the line, I demanded the supervisor who arrived within seconds, it turned out that no one ahead of us in the CE line should have been there and their only excuse was that it was the only line open when they arrived, I tried to point out that it wasn't their line but they didn't take it well.
Suspicions were conformed on board, only 15 in CE and not one of them was in the line ahead of us.
As a generalisation I'm fed up seeing agents at both check in/bag drop and at the gate letting passengers through who are in the wrong travel class or boarding group
Similarly had this at FCO the other week, very long queue for Club desks with no one using the Economy/Bag Drop ones - of course majority in Club queue not eligible. I had equally had my own DYKWIA moment, when I had reached the front of the Club queue after ten minutes of waiting - only for someone to try their luck at the head of the Bag Drop in being called forward.
