there is an article in Le Monde about how other airlines fill the void left by AF.
To bring this back on topic, several of the destinations suspended now are scheduled to resume again. Checking for random dates in early 2025 I can see AF flights to the following destinations that are suspended now:
- Bamako - daily with A332
- Niamey - 4x week with A332
Ouagadougou however has no flights scheduled on those random dates in early 2025.
If BKO and NIM come back, then AF‘s reductions in AF were both temporary and minima. All other destinations in traditional „Fançafrique“ are maintained, or have been axed a long time ago (Nouadhibou in 1948 already

), In Eastern Africa there is actually an expansion (DAR, ZNZ etc), and other destinations have been abandoned earlier (Maputo) or even decades ago (Bujumbura, Kigali…). So the impact of political shifts in some African countries on AF‘s network is rather limited.
