I flew out of SFO about two weeks ago and it was as described on the SFO website (check-in/bag drop at International Terminal A, departure out of T1). It shouldn't matter too much anyway since T1 and International A are connected airside now, so its a pretty quick walk (< 10 min) between the two if they happen to change terminals for whatever reason.
