Has anyone been successful in booking a hotel with the Invited points as the earning option and then switching to Hhonors by giving the hotel your Hilton number at check in?
If the Hilton-SLH setup is similar to what was in place at Hyatt, the
only way you can get HH credit is if your initial booking was through Hilton channels. SLH properties don’t have access to the Hilton loyalty channels so they won’t be able to attach your number to the reservation; if it’s made via Hilton, it carries onward to SLH and their member properties.
If the property isn’t showing Hilton-available space but is on their own channel, it sometimes helps to call the elite customer service line; I’ve heard of people at Hyatt who were able to score rooms for program credit that weren’t initially showing availability via Hyatt but were on SLH.
Hope this helps.
