I mentioned I'm traveling in 1 week.. but I admit it's buried in my wall of text.

Yes, it's for September.
ah ok, I thought maybe they do promotions on the first of the month or new season.
I've been watching this route's fares for three weeks.. sometimes I've searched a weekend date just 1 or 2 days away.. but I haven't seen the price increase at all for any dates. That's why I'm puzzled for EVA's flights.. the price has remaining static at least for this Singapore-Taipei-Okinawa route. I was curious if it's always like this.. and if so, it would be better if I just wait until the last minute to book.. so that way I will know if there's a major typhoon coming. It feels strange for me though to wait like this as normally I always book my flights as far in advance as possible.. but most airfares go down and up (especially up).. this fare has remained exactly the same for all dates I've searched for almost three weeks.
ah, ok so it's not as empty as it looks. I saw even their "standard" ticket offers free seat selection for this SIN-OKA route.

1. By "sales" do you mean like a price promotion? they do that only occasionally and I dont think it it always the first of the month.
2. Prices would probably rise more as the dates get closer, but will it shoot exponentially up? no one probably knows, but not likely given it is past summer.
3. If you are comparing fares movement to US based carriers, then Asian are indeed more static in my experience. But that doesnt mean it will not move.
4. This i can say with a lot more certainty that the flights are NOT empty. EVA charges for seats for many of its products (even for its premuim economy product) so many of those seats are already spoken for. If you check the dates and you see that only 60% are available, then it is going to be more or less a resonably packed flight if not full by the time it goes out.
Safety wise, EVA is going to be as safe as any other known brand carriers out there, including SQ.
