If you think the base room at the Andaz Tokyo is as big as suites in other properties, sounds to me like you were told you were upgraded to a suite, but really weren't. They are a decent size, but suite? Nope. The corner rooms are quite nice, however. I'd say I even prefer them to the suites, and I've been regularly upgraded into those (and suites also) which is perfectly fine.
