Hi,

I have saved up some Amex rewards points on my credit card and was hoping to use them on return flights from London Heathrow to San Fran. However, it seems very complicated and I am unsure of the best way to go about it so wanted to seek some clarity before i transfer my points to Avios (which can't be undone).

1. Looking at the normal BA booking the flights are £550 and there is an option to pay with avios (however it doesn't say how much / the value etc)
2. Via the BA Rewards Flights website the flight options are:

• 58000 Avios + £ 280.00
• 50000 Avios + £ 450.00
• 38000 Avios + £ 500.00
• 28000 Avios + £ 550.00
• 17500 Avios + £ 620.00

This doesn't make sense to me as that is more expensive than the normal cost?

I have 58,000 membership rewards point (which is equal in avios)

Anyone able to help me work out best value for my avios - or if it is better to save them for a different type of flight?
