I'm sorry if I appear as being without empathy but the moment I see gate A10 as the advertised gate, I waste no time at all in getting to the gate. As someone who travels a reasonable amount, you should be able to understand that delays can reduce and common sense should tell you that they mean scheduled departure time as the actual departure time can vary massively and isn't something you'd actually know exactly in advance. When it's A10 all bets are off. As soon as the last bus is counted off, there's no way you are getting on board. With a relatively short delay (which ended up being less than 20 minutes) you have to assume that they will board the buses pretty much as if there were no delay.
A delayed departure time is only an estimated departure time. I was delayed leaving home last week for a flight to HAM and had I relied on the estimated delayed time, I would have been very tight indeed, or missed it completely, as the delay disappeared completely from an hour to nothing at all, and it was gate A10. I had a very quick bite to eat, and made my way to the gate. When I got to the gate it was boarding - I was last on the first bus - the lounge display was showing gate open, the one in terminal showed boarding less than 5 mins later.
