How does economics of code share and interlining work between the two airlines involved. Tried to read up on it online, but still unclear given various sources out there.
On first glance, it should add to ALK/HA load factor and bring diverse booking sources. Based on how unit economics are structured, it could negate value of combined ALK/HA offering for example SFO to a neighbor island ticket vs. if United can match that through codeshare. But it is something ALK should take on to ensure approval and healthy inter island traffic.
