If yes, then why the current mess.
If no, then what has the regulatory body been doing.
It seems, based on the reports, the audit took place in June, so before the current, "mess".
As a former auditor myself, but not in the airline industry, I would have expected the auditors at the final closing meeting at the end of the audit, to cite their non-conformities and observations at that point to the company representatives, though obviously I cannot say whether that happened or not. If they did, there should have been a program of corrective and preventive actions.
Whether this end of audit disclosure happened and whether if it did, the airline took any steps, who knows? It would be nice, (especially as a regular user of the airline) to have some sort of statement from them.
You also can't help wondering if the reduction of the AOC from three years to one year, was a reaction to the recent "mess", rather than June's audit. I just hope this doesn't turn into another Comair.
