Taking a risk with a 2.20 time to self-transfer on separate tickets when you risk losing/buying a new short haul Y is one thing. Doing the same when what you risk losing/buying again is long haul F is an entirely different proposition (and whilst risk aversion is an individual calculation, it would be a crazy one to me).
