I can't find the link now but a ~2001 environmental impact report Dulles prepared made the statement that the mobile lounges were functionally obsolete and it would become impossible to obtain spare parts to maintain the lounges after 2008... so we're 16 years past the date where Dulles' consultants said the mobile lounges would essentially become unmaintainable...so the fact that this doesn't happen more often is amazing.
OTOH, The train was semi-broken yesterday (only one side of the platforms in use and people screaming to get on or not get on a train depending on where you were trying to go. It was the first time I've felt claustrophobic on that train and was almost comparable to the Tokyo subway during rush hour.
