Well, to sum it up, I won’t be returning to Anselmo
and don’t recommend it. Here are my impressions and photos:
Pros:
- Upgraded a few days in advance to a larger “Corner 1 Queen or 2 Twins” - ended up having a large king (two twins made up together and a separate twin to the side)
- Bed was generally comfortable - medium plush mattress, plush pillows (though a bit small), covers weren’t super thick (but fine for lack of AC)
- WiFi was actually effective
Neutral:
- Breakfast is “okay” - pastries with dulce de leche and cream cheese spreads were good - but no made to order eggs - only wet and slimy scrambled eggs
- ”Lounge” is just odd - very small room open from 5 PM to 7 PM with a coffee pot, some cookies in a jar, and some croissants
Cons:
- No AC at all in the winter - they brought a fan which at least helped with air flow
- No liquid body wash
- Shower temperature control was way too sensitive and either scalding hot or freezing cold with a few millimeters of twisting - pressure was only good with the freezing cold water
- No accessible outlets unless you started unplugging the lamps
- Slide-in keycards easily de-magnetized by electronics
- Lack of privacy with view into lobby and event space
- Would not confirm late checkout until morning of departure - I chose to just leave early
