Do you have a return flight... if so when you skip the flight to your EU city it's cancelled
Do you have checked luggage? if so it's going where the ticket goes

Otherwise if you do it once my experience is they won't do anything to you. (Do it a lot and all bets are off ,they do have the right to reprice it)
