so this is a straight overbooking situation.

i think the only closure to this is to claim any compensation which may be due from the responsible carrier - so QR. i don't think this flight would be falling under EC261/UK261 tho so there may not be any legally mandated compensation here.

also there may be some scope for a complaint, but the question would be who to complain to.
